L. Annette Griggs grew up near Clinton, Missouri but has spent her adult life in the greater Kansas City area. Annette finished her undergraduate degree at the University of Missouri and then started law school when her daughter was four months old. After completing law school at the University of Missouri - Kansas City, where she served on the staff of the Urban Lawyer, Annette went into private practice working primarily with personal injury victims.

Being a female attorney has shaped Annette's career as a partner at McCollum & Griggs, LLC.  Annette is devoted to protecting privacy rights of plaintiffs throughout the litigation process.  She is aware of the sensitive nature of information contained in medical records - especially for women.  Her passion includes protecting records from being released to defense attorney and insurance companies.

Annette has dedicated her practice to the representation of injured people. That representation comes in many forms, such as helping those injured in car and truck accidents, those with traumatic brain injuries, representing victims of drunk drivers, wrongful death actions, premises liability cases, product liability claims, and lawsuits against insurance companies.

Annette is an active member in numerous bar organizations, including the Clay County Bar, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys (MATA), the Association for Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City (AWL) and the Kansas City Progressive Women's Coalition.

Annette is also passionate about providing volunteer aid to the underprivileged members of her community. She has devoted part of her practice to Pro Bono work and has volunteered for the Missouri Public Defender's Office, NBC Action News "Ask A Lawyer Night" through KCMBA-Young Lawyers Section and has the American Red Cross Members through MATA. Further, she was privileged to assist follow women lawyers in the Kansas City, KS Habitat for Humanity program through the Association of Women Lawyers.

Outside of the legal profession, Annette enjoys spending time with her husband, Gary, and their daughter, Emma. As a family they enjoy sailing, fishing and other outdoor activities. They are active in their church and numerous community and political organizations.
